WingraBooks

WingraBooks (named after Lake Wingra in my hometown of Madison, Wisconsin), began in 2008 as an online bookstore via Amazon.  The business is a one-person operation, unless you count my husband, who at times begrudgingly ships books for me.  I had always wanted to own a bookstore, complete with a fat, sleeping cat.  Instead, I began my career teaching high school English and then worked some 25 years as an academic librarian at the University of Wisconsin.  When I retired, I realized I could actually have my store on the Internet, brick and mortar no longer being a necessity for a store.  (And, I not only have a fat, sleeping cat, I have three of them--some people inherit money; I inherit cats.)  I do not specialize in a particular type of book, although the vast majority of books I have for sale are of interest to academics.  I also inherited a large number of naval history and general history books.  I do, also, find myself nabbing first edition fiction at book sales just, well, just because.
